Family Vacations

Find The Right Vacation For Your Family

Colorado family vacations are what family vacations are all about to me. This is probably because I spent many of my vacations as a little girl going to Colorado every year. Colorado family vacations offer the magical setting of snuggling down in front of a fire in our log cabin, taking horse back rides around the mountain side, and playing in the snow. And not to mention the many amazing places to go skiing, even if you’re not a great skier, warming up to a cup of hot cocoa and a good book at the ski lodge was just as nice to me.

When planning your Colorado family vacations you first need to decide what you’re going for. If you just want a trip into the mountains to see some of the beautiful sites of Colorado like Pikes Peak, then your schedule should be pretty flexible. This was my favorite thing to do when I was little on our Colorado family vacations. I loved seeing the deer that would sometimes let you feed them by hand. What little kid doesn’t love playing in the snow? Another great stop on Colorado family vacations is the Royal Gorge bridge. This is an amazing creation that will make everyone in your family have to catch their breathe at the sight of this beautiful tourist attraction.

Of course, many Colorado family vacations are focused on skiing. And Colorado will not disappoint you. They offer about 20 choices for skiing. But you really need to check out each resort to find out what they offer. Some are geared towards older kids and adults and some are more family friendly. And remember that ski resorts are all on the tops of mountains. This means that you need to be prepared to pack for the day when you go out to the slopes unless your staying at the lodge at the resort. Often you need to travel into the local town for your shopping or to get more dining options. Although all the lodges offer some dining choices, you will probably want a change. This is another reason to really check into all the details of the resort, they vary greatly in what they offer.

Another option in Colorado family vacations is traveling to one of the cities. Boulder and Denver offer a little of everything. The have a variety of museums, festivals, and anything else you might think a large city would offer. The great thing about staying in the city is that you are always a pretty quick drive to some of the other things I listed. Skiing, fishing, and beautiful views surround these major cities and make a great all day outing for your family. So book any one of the great Colorado family vacations today and start making a memory that you family will never forget.
